Cornice Countersues Seagate In Patent Fight Over Disk-Drive Technology

Law360, New York (August 19, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Disk-drive maker Cornice has fired a legal volley back at one of the companies that sued it for patent infringement earlier this year, filing a countersuit against rival Seagate Technology over its patent rights for tiny disk drives.

The counterclaims, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware in response to a patent infringement complaint filed by Seagate in June, seeks a ruling that Seagate's patents are invalid, unenforceable, and not infringed upon by Cornice's products.
