Spine Implant Suit Disappears After A Day

Law360, New York (March 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Medtronic Inc. was hit on Tuesday with a lawsuit claiming its invertebral implant infringed a single patent. But only a day later, the plaintiff voluntarily withdrew the suit without prejudice.

Spine Solutions Inc. filed the suit on Tuesday in federal court in Philadelphia and dropped the suit on Wednesday. The suit named Medtronic Sofamor Danek Inc. and Medtronic Sofamor Danek USA Inc. as defendants. Medtronic Sofamor Danek is Medtronic’s Memphis, Tenn.-based spine products business.
