US Fights Aromont's Meat, Veggie Stock Tariff Win

Law360, New York (October 11, 2010, 1:19 PM EDT) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection is fighting food importer Aromont USA Inc.'s successful challenge to its 100 percent duty rates on the company's meat and vegetable stock products, appealing a lower court's finding that the agency misclassified the food items.

Attorneys from Customs and the U.S. Department of Justice notified the U.S. Court of International Trade on Friday that they would be asking the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to overturn an August decision in Aromont's favor.
