Energizer Wins American Safety Razor With $301M Bid

Law360, New York (October 8, 2010, 7:07 PM EDT) -- Energizer Holdings Inc. said Friday that its $301 million offer was the winning bid to buy American Safety Razor Co. LLC out of bankruptcy, despite concerns from lenders that the acquisition could prompt antitrust concerns from regulators.

Judge Mary F. Walrath entered an order approving the asset sale on Friday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware after previously allowing Energizer to compete in the auction even though the company's ownership of ASR's competitor, Schick Wilkinson-Sword, could pose a problem for winning approval...
