Ametek, Penn Color Sued Over Superfund Bills

Law360, New York (October 12, 2010, 3:05 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government has taken Ametek Inc. and Penn Color Inc. to court to cover the costs of cleaning up an 87-acre Superfund site in eastern Pennsylvania.

The complaint, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, claims that Ametek has to bankroll the cleanup after operating for 25 years a manufacturing plant that was responsible for pervasive contamination. Penn Color is also on the hook because it acquired the plant in 1988 and continues to operate it.
