DOI Seeks Input On Categorical Exclusion Policy

Law360, New York (October 11, 2010, 2:22 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy, Management, Regulation and Enforcement is asking the industry to weigh in as it undertakes a comprehensive review of the use of categorical exclusions to fast-track energy development on the Outer Continental Shelf.

The agency called for public comment on the review — launched in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon disaster — in a Federal Register notice published Friday.
