EU Delays Decision On €1.3B Unilever-Sara Lee Deal

Law360, New York (October 12, 2010, 12:52 PM EDT) -- European Union antitrust regulators have delayed coming to a decision about Unilever PLC's proposed €1.3 billion ($1.9 billion) acquisition of Sara Lee Corp.'s personal body care business.

The European Commission said on its website Tuesday that it was extending the deadline to Nov. 25 from Oct. 26.

In late May, the EC announced it was pursuing an investigation into the deal, saying an initial look showed that the transaction would bring together a number of important brands that currently compete against each other.
