Three Years Later, Microsoft Signs First E.U. Licensee

Law360, New York (March 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Microsoft Corp. has signed its first European licensee for an “interoperability” program that helps other servers work with its Windows operating platform, a move the European Commission told it to implement almost three years ago.

On Thursday, the software giant said it had licensed Quest Software Inc. to become the first licensee in the Microsoft Work Group Server Protocol Program, which will “extend and enrich interoperability capabilities” for customers on different server environments.
