10th Circ. Upholds Poultry Growers' $15M Antitrust Win

Law360, New York (October 13, 2010, 7:43 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld a $14.5 million judgment in favor of a group of chicken raisers who claimed that contracts they entered into with poultry producer OK Industries Inc. included provisions that harmed competition in violation of the Packers and Stockyards Act.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit on Wednesday affirmed a federal jury's award for five growers whom OK Industries contracted with to raise broiler chickens for the vertically integrated poultry producer in Oklahoma.
