Teamsters Local Sues Over Wash. Job, Program Cuts

Law360, New York (October 15, 2010, 2:51 PM EDT) -- A labor union that represents about 6,000 people employed by the Washington State Department of Corrections has filed a lawsuit seeking to bar the state from eliminating jobs and programs as part of a push to cut more than $50 million from the agency's budget.

Teamsters Local 117 filed its complaint in King County Superior Court on Wednesday, naming the state DOC and Gov. Christine O. Gregoire as defendants.
