Union Loses Bid To Arbitrate ConocoPhillips Disputes

Law360, New York (October 18, 2010, 1:56 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has tossed a union's suit seeking to force ConocoPhillips Co. to arbitrate disputes over alleged violations of collective bargaining agreements, ruling that the National Labor Relations Act's statute of limitations bars the grievances.

Judge Gregory K. Frizzell of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma granted summary judgment to ConocoPhillips on Friday, in a suit seeking to force arbitration of six grievances alleging the oil company violated CBAs by making operational changes such as eliminating positions or transferring jobs....
