Canada Says EU Free Trade Pact Will Arrive In 2011

Law360, New York (October 18, 2010, 7:16 PM EDT) -- Canada's international trade ministry announced Monday that it expected to hammer out a free trade agreement with the European Union before the end of 2011, well ahead of schedule.

The countries had expected to make the agreement in 2012, but a representative for Canadian Trade Minister Peter Van Loan confirmed the revised date on Monday. The agreement is expected to expand Canada’s economy by at least $12 billion, according to Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, a governmental agency.
