Australia Puts 40% Interim Duty On US Biodiesel

Law360, New York (October 19, 2010, 7:03 PM EDT) -- The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service has issued an interim countervailing duty of 40 percent on biodiesel imported from the U.S., saying that government subsidies appear to unfairly impact Australian businesses.

The agency said in a statement Monday that an interim duty was appropriate "to prevent material injury to the Australian industry occurring while the investigation continues.”
