Jury To Decide Validity Of Iridex Patent

Law360 (March 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A jury will decide whether an Iridex Corp. patent for laser eye surgery equipment is valid after a district court judge ruled that disputed facts prevented her from granting summary judgment.

Synergetics USA Inc. and Iridex both filed motions for summary judgment over the validity of the patent for connectors that attach disposable laser probes to Iridex lasers, the most widely used lasers for eye surgeries. Iridex has accused Synergetics of infringing the patent.
