Toshiba Faces 337 Suit Over TV Programming Patents

Law360, New York (October 21, 2010, 5:52 PM EDT) -- Rovi Corp. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate imports of Toshiba Corp. televisions and digital video recorders that allegedly infringe three patents covering technology for programming guides and content blockers.

Rovi, a digital entertainment technology provider, filed a complaint with the ITC on Wednesday, claiming Toshiba and its U.S. subsidiaries have violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 with imports of products using interactive programming guides and parental control technology.
