Energy Cos. Sue DOI Over Obama Drilling Policy

Law360, New York (October 22, 2010, 5:08 PM EDT) -- A petroleum industry group has sued the U.S. Department of the Interior over a decision to restrict exemptions in the Energy Policy Act of 2005 that allow oil developers in some cases to bypass environmental impact studies.

In a suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming on Thursday, the Western Energy Alliance claims the DOI's May modifications violate the Administrative Procedure Act because they conflict with Section 390 of the Energy Policy Act.
