Amphastar Sues FDA Over Raw Heparin Shipments

Law360, New York (October 26, 2010, 2:43 PM EDT) -- Amphastar Pharmaceuticals Inc. has filed a lawsuit asking a federal judge to force the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to release two shipments of raw heparin from a Chinese subsidiary that the agency allegedly held up as part of a pattern of vindictive behavior.

Amphastar filed its complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Monday, naming the FDA, FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg and Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius.
