Decline In Securities Work To Continue Into 2011

Law360, New York (October 26, 2010, 5:40 PM EDT) -- Securities attorneys can expect a rough 2011, as too many good lawyers compete for a volume of work that has been declining for several years, a new report on corporate legal spending says.

Corporate spending on securities work is expected to fall 0.8 percent from 2010 to 2011, continuing a decline that began in 2007, according to the Premium Practices Forecast 2011, released Monday by The BTI Consulting Group Inc. (Wellesley, Mass.).
