AIG Settles Insurance Action Over W.Va. Oil Leak

Law360, New York (October 29, 2010, 5:23 PM EDT) -- Affiliates of American International Group Inc. and Petroleum Products Inc., which leased an oil storage facility in West Virginia, have settled an insurance dispute over coverage for an oil leak at the site.

Judge Joseph R. Goodwin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia dismissed the case Thursday. Petroleum Products was seeking around $300,000 to cover cleanup costs at the site, plus unspecified punitive damages, according to an amended complaint.
