Lateral Movement Has Sluggish October

Law360, New York (November 1, 2010, 4:16 PM EDT) -- Lateral movement in the legal industry dropped almost 13 percent in October compared to the previous month, following the slowest quarter for lateral activity so far this year.

A total of 157 partners, shareholders, of counsel, special counsel and managing partners moved to new firms in the past month, compared to 180 who sought new positions in September, according to data Law360 compiled from law firm news releases.
