Nestle Sues Distributor Over Lean Cuisine Recall

Law360, New York (November 2, 2010, 12:28 PM EDT) -- Nestle Prepared Foods Co. is suing National Food Trading Corp. for breach of contract and damages after a forced recall of 880,000 pounds of Lean Cuisine meals with sun-dried tomatoes, supplied by National, that were allegedly contaminated with shards of plastic.

In a complaint lodged Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, Nestle alleged that between March 2007 and September 2008 it purchased 103,000 pounds of sun-dried tomatoes from National that were flecked with hard blue pieces of plastic.
