Ex-Halliwells Partners Get A 'Letter Of Death'

Law360, New York (November 2, 2010, 7:31 PM EDT) -- An administrator overseeing the sale of assets at defunct British legal outfit Halliwells LLP has reportedly warned its former partners they are about to face a slew of claims related to the firm's collapse.

Dermot Power, a restructuring expert at BDO LLP, wrote in an Oct. 26 letter that some of Halliwells' ex-partners should brace themselves for legal action over bank overdraws, unpaid capital contributions and breach of duty, according to a Monday report in Legal Week.
