NJ Court Says Pro Se Lawyers Entitled To Fee Awards

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 3:05 PM EDT) -- New Jersey courts are free to award legal fees to attorneys who represent themselves at trial, a state appeals court has ruled.

The court affirmed $49,205.24 in post-verdict legal fees that a trial court judge awarded to attorney Philip B. Vinick in a case that was itself over legal fees Vinick said he was owed by former clients, according to a per curiam opinion issued Monday by the Superior Court of New Jersey Appellate Division.
