SAP Agrees To Pay $120M To Cover Oracle Legal Fees

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 5:53 PM EDT) -- SAP AG has reportedly agreed to shell out $120 million to cover Oracle Corp.'s legal fees in exchange for the technology giant promising not to pursue punitive damages in an ongoing jury trial over contributory infringement of software copyrights.

The deal between the German business software maker and its rival still needs a stamp of approval from Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing anonymous sources familiar with the agreement.
