FTC Taps Princeton Prof For Chief Technologist Position

Law360, New York (November 5, 2010, 12:14 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission has appointed Princeton University professor and technology policy expert Edward Felten as its first chief technologist, tasking him with helping to steer the commission's technology policy on issues including cybersecurity and anti-competitive behavior.

Felten will take a leave of absence from Princeton for his one-year appointment to the newly created position beginning in January, the FTC and Princeton announced jointly on Thursday.
