BASF Offers EU Antitrust Fixes For €3.1B Cognis Deal

Law360, New York (November 10, 2010, 3:32 PM EST) -- BASF SE has submitted antitrust remedies to European Union regulators in an effort to win approval for its €3.1 billion ($3.8 billion) deal to buy specialty chemicals manufacturer Cognis Holding Luxembourg Sarl.

The European Commission said on its website Wednesday that it had received commitments from BASF, though the commission did not provide details on the company’s offer.

The website also said that the commission had set a new deadline of Nov. 30 to complete its antitrust review of the deal.
