EPA Releases Guidance On GHG Permitting

Law360, New York (November 10, 2010, 7:41 PM EST) -- In advance of the January implementation of a regulation requiring the largest stationary sources of greenhouse gas emissions to obtain permits, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday issued guidance to assist state and local authorities in enacting permitting programs.

These tools will allow permitting authorities to identify cost-effective pollution reduction options for GHGs under the Clean Air Act as part of the EPA's “commonsense approach to permitting GHG emissions,” the agency said.
