CFTC Eyes Enforcement As Reach Expands

Law360, New York (November 30, 2010, 7:53 PM EST) -- Spurred on by the financial crisis and the passage of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has upped its enforcement efforts and expanded its rule-writing authority, with observers saying it will soon take on a position of importance that will rival that of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
