Green Group To Sue EPA Over Use Of Oil Dispersant

Law360, New York (November 11, 2010, 5:35 PM EST) -- The Center for Biological Diversity said Wednesday that it had formally notified the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Coast Guard that it intended to sue the agencies, alleging they authorized the use of toxic oil dispersants in Arctic waters without studying potential effects on Alaskan wildlife.

The group is demanding that the agencies immediately study the effects of dispersants and other cleanup operations on endangered wildlife and incorporate that information into oil-spill response plans.
