Pesticide Patent Suit Stings Bayer CropScience

Law360, New York (March 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A pesticide company has sought declaratory judgment that it does not infringe a Bayer CropScience LP patent, claiming the global crop giant is attempting to deter potential licensees from doing business with the company.

Etigra LLC’s suit, filed on Monday, accused Bayer and its subsidiaries of threatening the company and its potential licensees and customers with a patent infringement lawsuit if they license or purchase a new Etigra product called Imida E-Pro fertilizer, which combines a plant fertilizer and a systemic plant insecticide called imidaclopid....
