Packaging Co. Wants Reduced Glass Container Duty

Law360, New York (November 17, 2010, 6:16 PM EST) -- A Florida packaging distributor is fighting to reduce a 38 percent duty it received on two shipments of glass containers, claiming that U.S. Customs and Border Protection misclassified the imports and should have applied a lower rate.

In a complaint lodged Monday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, Dependable Packaging Solutions Inc. argued that the glass containers it imported should only have been subject to a 5.2 percent duty.
