USPTO Proposes Rules To Streamline Appeal Process

Law360, New York (November 16, 2010, 5:11 PM EST) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has proposed a new set of changes to the rules governing ex parte patent appeals before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences in an effort to avoid undue burdens on both appellants and patent examiners.

The agency issued a notice of proposed rulemaking in the Federal Register Monday, seeking comment on the amendments to the ex parte appeals procedures.
