Fed. Circ. Nixes Eon-Net Atty's Bid To Avoid Sanctions

Law360, New York (November 16, 2010, 7:50 PM EST) -- An appeals court has denied a bid by Eon-Net LP and its attorney to dodge more than $600,000 in sanctions and fees from a patent infringement suit that incurred the wrath of a district court judge.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Monday denied a motion by the technology company and its attorney Jean-Marc Zimmerman, ruling that Zimmerman's declaration that he faced financial ruin from the sanctions were insufficient to stay the district court's ruling.
