UNM, Taiwan Firm Resolve Semiconductor 337 Probe

Law360, New York (November 17, 2010, 12:32 PM EST) -- A nonprofit group affiliated with the University of New Mexico has settled infringement allegations against a Taiwanese semiconductor firm, the last respondent left in a Section 337 probe over patents for lithographic methods used in semiconductor manufacture.

Complainant STC.UNM entered a joint termination motion Tuesday before a U.S. Court of International Trade judge with respondent Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd., claiming they had reached an agreement to license the technology to Taiwan Semiconductor.
