ITC Denies Spansion's Bilski Challenge In 337 Probe

Law360, New York (November 17, 2010, 6:00 PM EST) -- A federal judge has denied Spansion Inc.'s attempt to invalidate the claims of a flash memory patent assigned to Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. at the center of a U.S. International Trade Commission investigation.

In an order issued Monday, ITC Administrative Law Judge Carl C. Charneski was unmoved by Spansion's arguments that U.S. Patent Number 5,740,065 is invalid because the asserted claims are only an attempt to patent an abstract idea.
