Judge Hands $2M Life Insurance Policy Over To FTC

Law360, New York (November 18, 2010, 6:03 PM EST) -- A federal judge has agreed to hand over a $2 million life insurance policy to the Federal Trade Commission, which is trying to collect on a judgment against the beneficiary in a separate fraud suit, because the signature changing the policy beneficiary to a trust was likely a fake.

The only admissible evidence showed "circumstantially" that a signature transferring the policy from the beneficiary to a trust was likely a forgery, Judge Jose E. Martinez of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida...
