SEC Advances Hedge Fund Oversight Proposals

Law360, New York (November 19, 2010, 6:34 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission signed off on rule proposals Friday that would boost the SEC's oversight of hedge funds and other investment advisers as part of the agency's efforts to swiftly implement the new financial reform law.

The SEC pushed the proposals on hedge fund oversight forward Friday, moving them into the public comment phase before the agency approves a final version.
