Colombia Pushes For Resolution To FTA Impasse

Law360, New York (November 19, 2010, 12:46 PM EST) -- Colombia's new ambassador to the U.S. has called for a re-evaluation of the free trade agreement between the two countries in order to secure approval from Congress, which has not voted on the deal since it was signed in 2006.

In a speech at the National Foreign Trade Council in Washington on Thursday, Gabriel Silva said that lawmakers and unions who have opposed the deal need must recognize that completing it will create jobs and be “appropriate and helpful” to both countries.
