EPA Delays Decision On E15 For Older Cars

Law360, New York (November 19, 2010, 7:03 PM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has delayed its decision on whether to raise the permitted ethanol percentage in gasoline from 10 percent to 15 percent for cars built during model years 2001 to 2006.

The agency, which had previously stated it would make the decision by the end of November, said Friday that the U.S. Department of Energy needed more time to complete tests on whether the 15 percent ethanol blend known as E15 was safe to use in the vehicles.
