Union Pacific, EPA Near Deal In FOIA Suit

Law360, New York (November 22, 2010, 1:40 PM EST) -- Union Pacific Railroad Co. and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency could be close to a settlement in a Freedom of Information Act suit brought by Union Pacific over the alleged destruction of documents concerning lead contamination at a Superfund site in Omaha, Neb.

In an order issued Thursday, Magistrate Judge F.A. Gossett III of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska approved a stay of the proceedings through Jan. 18 so the two sides can try to prepare and reach agreement on settlement documents...
