Fossil, Macy's Sued Over Magnetic Snap Closures

Law360, New York (November 23, 2010, 4:02 PM EST) -- A company that makes magnetic snap closures has accused accessories manufacturer Fossil Inc. and retailer Macy's Inc. of violating its patent and trademark rights by selling purses using the Romag name and technology without permission.

Romag Fasteners Inc., based in Milford, Conn., lodged its complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut on Monday, targeting Fossil bags using magnetic snap fasteners sold at Macy's.
