Sweden Seeks $1.3M In Fines For Tire Bid-Rigging

Law360, New York (November 24, 2010, 3:53 PM EST) -- Sweden's antitrust watchdog moved Wednesday to fine two tire companies about 9 million kronor ($1.3 million) for submitting collective bids for two public procurement contracts through a national trade group.

The Swedish Competition Authority issued proceedings against Dackia AB and Euromaster AB, claiming that the tire companies essentially operated a bidding cartel by using Svenska Dackforeningen, the Swedish Tire Association, to submit joint public tenders in 2005.
