UK Starts Competition Inquiry Into Home Appliances

Law360, New York (November 29, 2010, 3:44 PM EST) -- As new companies and products enter the home appliances market in the U.K., the country's economic regulator is considering the revision of a 12-year-old order aimed at fostering competition in the industry.

The Office of Fair Trading announced Thursday that it was launching a review of competition regulations for home appliances, including televisions, camcorders, refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers. It also solicited comments on a potential market study into warranties and repairs related to those products.
