Cardinal Health Buys Chinese Drug Importer For $470M

Law360, New York (November 29, 2010, 7:07 PM EST) -- Cardinal Health has acquired Zuellig Pharma China, the country's largest pharmaceutical importer, in a $470 million deal that will gain the health care services giant a foothold in one of the fastest-growing global markets.

The acquisition of the privately owned Zuellig Pharma, known locally as Yong Yu, was the second acquisition this month for the Dublin, Ohio-based Cardinal Health, which had picked up privately held pharmaceutical distributor Kinray, Inc. for $1.3 billion.
