Law360, New York (November 30, 2010, 3:12 PM EST) -- Applied Materials Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. have reached a deal that will avoid civil suits between the companies related to pending criminal charges in South Korea alleging that Applied Materials employees stole Samsung semiconductor technology and leaked it to rival Hynix Semiconductor Inc.
Applied Materials said in a statement Monday that it had entered into a settlement with Samsung under which it will sell products to Samsung at a discount for three years.
