US Calls On China To Open Markets Further

Law360, New York (December 2, 2010, 3:17 PM EST) -- U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke has urged China to do more to open up its markets and make its commercial regulations more transparent as the two countries prepare for bilateral trade talks later in December.

American businesses are concerned that the way China develops, implements and enforces its business rules is not transparent, and they are "frustrated by the fact that even when there are strongly worded laws promoting fair market access at the national level, implementation is often inconsistent at the provincial and local level,"...
