Allstate Says Law Firm To Blame For $16M Verdict

Law360, New York (December 3, 2010, 4:37 PM EST) -- Allstate Insurance Co. has filed an amended complaint against a Kansas City, Mo., law firm and one of its former shareholders, alleging that their trial errors cost the insurer $16.3 million.

Wallace Saunders Austin Brown & Enochs Chtd. and one of its former shareholders, Paul Hasty Jr., failed to use a defense that would have spared the insurer millions in a failure-to-settle lawsuit that was rooted in a drunk driving accident, according to the complaint filed Thursday on behalf of Allstate by Sherri Thornton-Pierce of Shefsky...
