Great American Settles $14M Suit Over School Fire

Law360, New York (December 3, 2010, 4:11 PM EST) -- Great American Insurance Co. and an Arkansas school district have reached a settlement with defendants Cooper Lighting LLC and Leviton Manufacturing Co. Inc. in a $14 million suit over a fire at a school that was allegedly caused by a defective light fixture.

Judge D.P. Marshall Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas signed an order Thursday granting a motion to dismiss with prejudice from Cooper Lighting, which said the case had been settled.
