International Trade Policy To Watch In 2011

Law360, New York (December 27, 2010, 11:21 AM EST) -- Approval of three long-stalled free trade agreements, continued progress on reforming the U.S. export control system and possible legislative wrangling over Russia's World Trade Organization accession are among the international trade law developments attorneys will be watching in 2011.

November's election results could move trade issues further up the legislative agenda, according to attorneys, since trade might be one rare area in which legislators and the White House can find common ground this year, particularly with regard to trade agreements.
