Arkema To Snag Total Chemicals Units For $729M

Law360, New York (December 7, 2010, 4:03 PM EST) -- Arkema Inc. revealed plans Tuesday to shell out €550 million ($729 million) to acquire the coatings resins and photocure resins businesses of Total SA's specialty chemicals units, a move the French conglomerate said would boost its footprint in the global coatings market.

The businesses involved in the transaction include the Cray Valley and Cook Composites & Polymers coatings resins units, which deal with paints and adhesives, and the Sartomer photocure resins unit, Arkema said.
